WCSO Asks For Help In December 2007 Shooting Incident

On December 16th 2007, at approximately 2113 hours, The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department responded to 9 Mineral Springs Road to investigate the report of shots being fired into a mobile home. Sheriff Farrior, Deputies Tim Hollinghead, Wesley Waites, & Michael Patton and Investigators Mike Mozingo and Kevin Stevens responded. Initial investigation revealed that approximately 36 rifle rounds were fired into the mobile home residence of Quinton Whitfield Jr. located at 9 Mineral Springs Drive. Whitfield received a non-lethal gunshot wound and was transported to Wayne General Hospital for treatment. Another family member was present but was not harmed.
Victims and witnesses reported that three black males got out of a dark colored vehicle and began firing at the mobile home. The three black males were reportedly wearing masks. The Sheriff’s Department received information from individuals as well as calls from unnamed individuals reporting that this incident was connected to drugs.

A $1,000.00 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this crime.
