On October 16th 2007, The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department arrested Julius C. Cooley and charged him with burglary of a dwelling and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Deputy Charles Everett responded to the report of a residence being burglarized Sunday morning. Two firearms were reported stolen from the residence from the Altair Community.

Sheriff Farrior received a call reporting that Cooley was responsible for the burglary. Chief Deputy Gerald Barnett located Cooley and transported him to the Sheriff’s Department. Working with the information, Sheriff Farrior, Chief Deputy Gerald Barnett, and Investigators Kevin Stevens and Mike Mozingo obtained other evidence to charge Cooley.

Wayne County Justice Court Judge Charles Britton Sr. set Cooley a $5,000.00 bond on each charge. Investigator Stevens will be presenting the case to the January Grand Jury.
