Fire Arson Charge

On Wednesday, Oct. 31, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department Fire Investigator Kevin Stevens and Mississippi Deputy State Fire Marshall Ben Brown arrested Angie Lynn Morgan and charged her with arson, first degree. The arrest stems from the investi- gation of a house fire located on Circle Ed Ranch Drive that happened on Oct. 9. Volunteer firefighters from Denham, Progress and Central Stations responded to the structure fire. Investigators later recovered physical evidence, as well as other evidence, that led to the arrest of Morgan. Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Seeger assisted in the arrest. On Thursday, Nov. 1, Morgan made her initial appear- ance before Justice Court Judge Charles Chapman, who set her bond at $5,000. Stevens will present the case Angie Lynn Morgan to the February 2019 session of the Wayne County Grand Jury.
