p> WCSD officers responded to 896 incidents during the last 31 days. This is down by 25 from the July figures. Officers also held 6 premises checks of business and schools in the area. “Wayne County’s major crime rate continues to decline thanks to the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting our communities,” said WC Sheriff Jody Ashley. “While this is good news, we remain diligent in our efforts to ensure Wayne County remains the safest place to live and raise a family,” added Ashley.
