p>Wayne County Sheriff Jody Ashley released his crime stats for the month of September. . WCSD officers responded to 1,284 incidents during the last 30 days. This is up over 100 from the August figures. Officers also held 565 premises checks of business and schools in the area. “Wayne County’s major crime rate continues to decline thanks to the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting our communities,” said Ashley. “While this is good news, we remain diligent in our efforts to ensure Wayne County remains the safest place to live and raise a family,” added Ashley.
