Cooley Charged With Breaking and Entering On Angie Mills Drive

On February 13th 2012, at approximately 2122 hours, The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department received a call from an individual located on Angie Mills Drive reporting that her ex-boyfriend had broke into her home and taken some items. Deputies Jamey Beard and Michael Platt responded to the scene to learn that the individual had left. While conducting the initial investigation, the Deputies received a call reporting a one vehicle accident on Clara Strengthford Road.

 

The driver of the vehicle was identified as the ex boyfriend, Lemont L. Cooley. Deputies Beard and Platt recovered the stolen items from the truck. Cooley was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Dwelling, reckless driving, driving while license suspended, no insurance, switched tag, contempt of courts with Wayne County Justice Court, Waynesboro Municipal Court, and Laurel Municipal Court. Chief Investigator Mike Mozingo will present the case to the June 2012 Wayne County Grand Jury.
