WCSO Charges Two Individuals With Burlary Of Boutwell Road Residence

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department arrested and charged Terry Lindow Haley of Hattiesburg, Ms, and Synthia Fae Smith of Purvis, Ms, with burglary of a dwelling early Wednesday morning, September 29th 2010. The arrests are the result of the investigation of a burglary that was reported at a residence located on Boutwell Road near the Brewertown Road intersection. The burglary was discovered Tuesday evening, September 28th 2010, by individuals that were watching over the residence while the owners were out of town. Deputies Michael Patton and Jamey Beard, along with Investigator Mike Mozingo responded to the scene.

 

The next morning, a watchful neighbor observed a vehicle driving behind the house. The vehicle fled away on the Boutwell Road. The neighbor called Investigator Mozingo and provided an excellent description of the vehicle including the license plate number and direction of travel. Investigators Mike Mozingo and Kevin Stevens, Deputies Charles Everett, Tim Hollinghead, & Cynthia Terrell and SMNTF Commander Brent Pursell converged on the area. Richton Police Department, Green County Sheriff’s Department, and the Perry County Sheriff’s Department set up checkpoints. The vehicle was located approximately 3 miles from the scene. Items taken from the house were recovered from the vehicle. The investigation revealed that Haley and Smith had been living in the woods off of Boutwell Road for about two weeks.
