On February 17th 2011, The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department responded to a burglary on Somer Drive in the Beat Four Community. Deputy Jamey Beard and Investigator Kevin Stevens responded. Forcible entry was used to enter the house. Two replica firearms and two swords were reportedly stolen from the residence. The scene was processed and an extensive amount of physical evidence was recovered and submitted to the Mississippi Crime Laboratory for analysis.
On Sunday, February 27th 2011, a landowner observed a two tone brown station wagon driving out of the woods on his property and contacted Investigator Mike Mozingo. Deputies Cynthia Terrell and Charles Everett responded. The vehicle was not located however the two replica firearms and two swords were recovered.
